Santa Anita Park announced that Conan O’Brien will be announcing a race Friday to get 
attention for the Arcadia track and the upcoming Breeders’ Cup.
O’Brien’s resume includes writing for my beloved “The Simpsons,” aka GTSE (Greatest Television Show Ever). He was long gone from the show before the ill-fated Saddlesore Galactica jockeys/elves episode (one Comic Book Guy might say was was the “worst episode ever“) a few years ago.
But O’Brien in the Santa Anita announcer’s booth can’t stop me from having bad flashbacks of that episode, which featured none other than regular Santa Anita announcer Trevor Denman. The terribly forgettable Land of The Jockeys (scroll down for lyrics) song was included.
Now, if it were Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, that’d be must-see TV. Nonetheless, I’ll be watching.
